Let’s Celebrate Women’s History Month
Beyond International Women’s Day (March 8), a law declaring March as Women’s History Month was passed by Congress and signed by President Reagan in 1987.
Women continue to demonstrate reasons why the monthly celebration remains in effect by supported proclamation.
We honor women who’ve propelled in achievements, just like you. Women who’ve changed world culture like Oprah. Those who stand up in the name of protecting basic human rights like Malala, and she who gives back to help girls achieve beyond imagination like Sally K. Ride.
This month we’re celebrating our very own businesswoman, entrepreneur and philanthropist Lillian Vernon.
Started in 1951, by 1987, Lillian Vernon Corporation was the first woman-founded company traded on the American Stock Exchange. Today, the Lillian Vernon legacy continues to influence lives around the world.
Striving to make your dreams memorable
Lillian knew what women wanted- even before they knew. The custom elegance of the whimsical items created to be classically monogrammed attracted many.
I know my customer because I am my customer.
After foreseeing the benefits of advertising in a September issue of Seventeen magazine, a successful Lillian Vernon brand was officially born.
Not only was she a cutting-edge business woman, her will of philanthropy won her many awards including the Big Brother/Big Sisters National Hero Award, Ellis Island Medal of Honor, and the Gannett Newspapers Business Leadership Award.
In 1998, Vernon was inducted into the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame.
Lillian attributed her success to her intestinal fortitude.
I never gave up, and I never let anyone get in my way.
Lillian’s legacy shines bright through her unique gifts
Gifts Lillian’s brand offers include practical items such as tool cases, organizers, robes, and blankets, and perks like water bottles, necklaces, shawls and trinket boxes.
What clients love best is the personalization of gifts- that’s always a free addition.
Personalized gifts are set apart because recipients acknowledge the immense feeling towards someone who makes the effort of taking the time to mark an occasion in such an exclusive way.
Lillian cared about you. That is why, this month of celebrating Women’s History Month, we honor you, Lillian Vernon.
Chances are, there’s been a woman in your life who’s made an influence. Grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, friend.
